Precious Little Blueberry!

>> Thursday, April 29, 2010

So, right now I am 7 and a half weeks pregnant which means that our little one is the size of a blueberry! The sweetest little blueberry in the world! Yesterday, on Maddy's birthday ( poor kiddo), I started having some signs that something was wrong. Cramping and some spotting. My Dr. wanted to see me and test my progesterone levels which is the hormone that keeps the pregnancy intact. The results came back today and they are low. They like the level to be around 15 or at least in the teens. Mine was a 9. The Dr. said this was not uncommon but that I need to go on progesterone supplements right away to boost my levels and they will retest next week. I looked up "progesterone" since I really don't know that much about it! What I found was not great. Progesterone is the hormone that keeps the pregnancy intact. It is what is needed for a rich, healthy uteran lining that the fetus needs to thrive. Low progesterone levels mean a thin or thinning uteran lining which can lead to a miscarriage or a threatened miscarriage.
All this to say, I am a little worried..well, make that a lot worried! Everything I read stated that many women go on to have a healthy pregnancy and carry to term, but that low progesterone is an early sign that something is wrong. My Dr. said that he has seen this many times and that 9 out of 10 times the supplements fix the problem. But, of course I can't help but worry. Whenever you see that word "miscarriage" you go into a frenzy! I had so many problems with Maddy, but knew that God was with her all the time. Same with this little one. I am scared and worried and don't know what is going to happen but know that God is with this little one just as He was with Maddy. He loves this baby more than I do and will protect it and keep it strong inside of me! Pray that this will be the only complication I encounter and that my levels will go up and there will be no problems.
My mom said to me today that Madeline is proof that God does miracles, and that is so true! Looking at her everyday reminds me that God protected her and will use her mightily for His kingdom..just as I know He will use this little one too!
Thankyou for all your prayers! The hardest part is waiting a week to find out that my levels are back to normal! It's hard to go through my days without worry and anxiety, but I know that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, strength and a sound mind!!

April 28th, 2009-6:42 am!

>> Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Happy Birthday Madeline!!! Maybe it is my pregnancy hormones, but all I have wanted to do today is cry! Cry because my little baby girl is a year old!! I really cannot believe it! Last night Joe and I were getting ready for bed, and I said, "Hey, this time last year I was contracting and we were timing contractions and getting ready to go to the hospital!" Madeline was born at 6:42am ,and this morning she woke up right at 6:45! I think she knew it was her birthday! God has brought us through so much with Madeline. A threatened miscarriage at 10weeks, an undetected heartbeat at 12weeks, an emergency c-section b/c Maddy's heartrate dropped everytime I contracted ( her heartbeat got to 40bpm, should have been around 150), and a NICU stay where we had to leave the hospital without our baby! Through all of this God had His mercies upon her and protected her inside of me as well as when she came out! They got her out in time with no oxygen loss, she thrived in the NICU and only had to stay there a day later than when we had to leave. She had no problems at all and even gained 8oz in the hospital. Our Dr. said that NEVER happens, that usually babies loose weight in the hospital.

She is now so big and strong and I thank God everyday for giving her to us and showing us that we are nothing without Him! She went from a teeny tiny thing (5lbs 120z) to such a big girl whose belly gets bigger by the day! Some friends of ours just had a baby, and Madeline looked like such a giant next to the baby! It was hard for me to even remember her so small! Tonight we are having round 2 of her birthday celebration. Joe's parents are coming over for a birthday dinner and cake and ice-cream! I know a little girl who is going to be pretty excited that she gets to eat cake twice in a week!

Although I am sad that Madeline is growing up, I am also really excited to see what the next year brings from her! She has changed so much this past year and I can't wait to see her start talking more, walking, growing up and seeing her with her little brother or sister! Thankyou God for children...they are such a special gift!!

Happy Birthday to You!!!

>> Saturday, April 24, 2010

Happy Birthday sweet Baby Girl!! Ok, so today is not Madeline's actualy bday( it's not until the 28th), but today is when we celebrated it! It was a lot more low key than I intended, but still a lot of fun! The rain was so bad today so, we had to move the party indoors! I was so sad that we couldn't play at the park, but the party still went great! Everyone just came over for lunch and cupcakes and presents. It was so sweet to sing "Happy Birthday" to her for the first time, watch her eat cake for the first time, and see her expressions to everything! She especially liked her "Elmo" balloons! She kept saying "Memo", which is her way of saying "Elmo"! My family and Joe's family all came over. Both of her cousins where here, Abigail and Briana, as well as her soon to be cousin in Aunt Sarah's tummy and her new brother or sister in Mommy's tummy! I kept trying to get a picture of the three girls together but none of them were having it!

Maddy especially liked her "walk and ride" lion walker, and her FSU tutu from Aunt Anna! When FSU kicks off she will have her FSU T-shirt, her FSU head bow, and her FSU tutu! Daddy is very excited about that!!! Next Wed, on her actual birthday we are having a special dinner for her which I'm sure will make me realize more that she really is 1!!! This year has really gone by so so fast! I remember this time last year so vividely! It's so neat to see her grow up, but at the same time I want her to stay my baby forever! Oh welll, I guess we all have to grow up! I'm leaving you with a picture of her the day she was born, and the day she was born a year later (minus a few days!)

A Little Weird!

>> Wednesday, April 21, 2010

So, today my friend, Ashley offered to take Madeline for the day so I could rest! I have to admit, at first it was a little strange coming home to a quiet house and expecting her to pop out any minute, but after a while I realized it was just what I needed. I feel asleeep for 3hours, definetly what I needed! I forgot how much you sleep with pregnancy, and with my throwing up lately,I knew I really needed it! When I got up it was weird to not have to worry about getting Madeline up from her nap or getting dinner ready for her! It definelty reminded me of the days when I was pregnant with Madeline, just me and Joe here with a little one inside! We're not huge babysitter people, just b/c we miss her too much ( yes, we are way too attached), but once in a while it is SUCH a blessing! Thanks Ashley!
Ashley has a little boy, Jack, who is about a month older than Madeline. We like to get together a lot with our friend, Samantha too has a little boy, Noah, who is about 2 weeks older than Madeline, so they can all play together! Maddy LOVES them and especially boys in general! Who knows why? She gets along so well with them, follows them everywhere, and just seems to like them more than girls! She tends to get in fights with girls and pick on them a little! It's very dissettling! Hopefully, she will grow out of it!
In other weird news, it hit me today that I will have been pregnant or giving birth for the last 3years straight! I got pregnant with Madeline in 2008, had her in April of 2009, and got pregnant again in March of 2010! Maybe we should take 2011 off?? Haha!

Round Two!!

>> Monday, April 19, 2010

So, morning sickness has arrived...BIG TIME!! I remember I started throwing up with Madeline around 8weeks, and it lasted until about 5 months. I am 6weeks and throwing up soo bad!! Not fun at all! Hopefully, since it started earlier this time it will go away faster!
Pregnancy round 2 has seemed a LOT different already and I'm not even that far along! I've gotten bigger faster, gotten sicker faster, and maybe it's in my head but I have already been starting to get back pain too! The hardest part is keeping up with Madeline while I feel like this, but thankfully I have had some very sweet friends who have offered to take care of her! Joe took her to church yesterday and stayed out with her a little while after so I could rest, but I started missing her so much that I wanted them to come home soon! What makes this all so much worse is that my sister who is pregnant too says she has been feeling fine! WHAT'S THAT ABOUT!!! Oh well, I guess I don't really want her to get sick!!! Ha ha!
Last time it should have been called "all day sickness", b/c I was sick all day! This time it really is more morning sickness..but the morning starts at about 3am and lasts until 9am. Hopefully, it will get better soon . I know it means the baby is healthy so I really can't complain that much!
In other news, we are still underway for Madeline's bday party! Again, it's going to be low key, just family, which I'm thankful for. I don't think I could feel like this and plan a huge party! I'm really excited to see how she is going to react to everything, including mommy potentially throwing up in the bushes at the park! I still can not believe she is turning 1!! I told her yesterday to not grow up any more and to stay a baby forever, but I don't think she's going to listen to me!

Oh What A Night!!!!

>> Saturday, April 17, 2010

Last night was the first time that I started getting sick from this pregnancy! We were in the middle of Wal-Mart and all of a sudden it hit me! I really did think I was going to throw up in the middle of the cereal aisle! Thankfully,we go home in time, but I was feeling sooo sick!!! Finally, about 10:30, I felt like I could go to sleep. Just then I heard Madeline crying in her room. She had been really whiny all night and kept waking up crying. Joe went in to check on her b/c I was feeling so bad, and there she was, covered in throw up!!!!
I helped Joe clean her up, feeling like I was going to throw up any second! Finally, she was all cleaned up and I was cuddling with her and trying to get her back to sleep, when all of a sudden I hear that all too familiar gagging. She threw up AGAIN, all over our bed and on the carpet! I'll spare you all the details, but all in all she threw up 5 times in an hour and half!!! And mind you, I'm still feeling like I'm going to throw up any second and the nausea is overwhelming me!! By midnight, we were all cleaned up AGAIN, and asleep! What a night!!!
However, before all this happened, we go some great news from my sister and her husband! THEY ARE PREGNANT!!!!! I am so excited for them! And, on top of that she is due around the same time as me!!!! She hasn't been to the Dr. yet, but everything is pointing to a due date on or around our due date! It will be so neat to have them so close in age! My family is already trying to figure out how they can be in two places at once, but hopefully one of us will go a little early or a little late so everyone can be there! It has been a pattern lately that when God blesses us with something it is all at once! What a blessing to not only have one baby, but TWO!! Everyone thinks that I will have a boy and Sarah ( my sis) will have a girl! We shall see!!! We both find out in July! Can't wait!!

Deja Vu!

>> Friday, April 16, 2010

Yesterday was our first visit to the Dr. after finding out I am pregnant again! Talk about Deja Vu!! Joe said it as soon as we started making that all to familiar walk to the Dr.'s office at Brookwood! It really seems like we were doing this same exact thing not too long ago with Madeline. We are using the same Dr. that we did with her, and all the same nurses still work in the office. When they saw me they all said, " Wow! You guys are back so soon"?!!! It was a great visit and they did all the same things that they did to me when we were pregnant with Madeline. We even saw our old chart from Sept. 2008, which was our first visit with Madeline! It made things seem so much more real! The Dr. even said I am a few days farther along that I thought. Not a huge milestone I know, but every day counts!!!
Everything looks great and the Dr. said I am right where I should be! Our first ultrasound is May 13th! I am so excited to see and hear our baby for the first time! This all seems so surreal, but as the days go on it is seeeming more and more like a reality! After we left, they gave us a "Welcome to Motherhood" gift bag with all sorts of goodies in it! Inside were magazines, pre-natals, pamphlets, ect. The thing that really got my attention though were the free newborn diapers inside! They looked so increadibly small!! I almost cried b/c it finally hit me that we were truly going to have someone in the house again that was going to be that small! I held it up to Madeline and it looked so small next to her!
I remember bringing Madeline home from the hospital, so small and precious. I remember how she would fall asleep on our chests in bed and how her little hiny would fit in our hand. I remember the bonding over breast feeding and her little coos and groans, and how everyday was amazing just watching her! Now, she is still our little baby girl, but so independent!! It will be so wonderful to see her be a big sister! I just can't wait!!!

And Baby Makes FOUR!!!!

>> Tuesday, April 13, 2010

So, I was just thinking how I will need to change my blog from "Life With Three" to "Life With Four"!! We found out a few days ago that we are expecting a new addition to the family! WE ARE PREGNANT!!!! I really had no idea! I was shocked when I found out I was pregnant with Madeline, and the same with this baby! Joe and I had been wanting to get pregnant again, but were just living in the peace of God in knowing that when the timing was right it would happen again! Well, the timing was right! I remember walking away from my pregnancy test with Madeline and thinking it was negative...instead it turned positive in less than a second! With this one, same thing, I walked away thinking it would be negative, and when I came back there were two lines baby!!!!

We are really soo soo excited! I cannot wait to have two under two! It will be tiring and stressful at times, but what better gift than to be a mother? Children are such a blessing and I am so thrilled to go through the whole experience again! I can't wait to start growing my belly, feeling the baby move for the first time, seeing the baby on the ultra-sound, and holding that newborn for the first time!!

We are due Dec. 15th, so we will he having a Christmas baby! Joe says it's just in time for our tax cut! Please keep this pregnancy and that precious baby growing inside of me in your prayers. For those of you who don't know, we had a lot of complications with Madeline, and I am just believing that this will be a complication free pregnancy!

So ,YEAH FOR A NEW ADDITION TO THE DAVIS HOUSEHOLD!!!!!!!

Instant Starbucks

>> Monday, April 12, 2010

So, this morning I woke up and realized WE WERE OUT OF COFFEE!!!!! I have been gone for about a week so I haven't done a grocery shop in a while, and if you know me, you know I can't get through my morning unless I have coffee! I was already in a bad mood b/c Joe is having to go back to Decatur to finish up his training seminar for three days. I was seriously thinking about going to the store just for coffee, but decided to try the instant coffee packets that I got from Starbucks forever ago. They were giving away free samples so I snagged a bunch.
I've never been a fan of instant coffee but decided I didn't have many options. It was soo good!!! It really tasted just like coffee you get freshly brewed at Starbucks. I told Joe how much I liked it and he told me that he has been tricking me with it for a while now. If I ever ask him to pick up some Starbucks for us, he just makes the instant and tells me he went to the store!!!! He is very tricky b/c he makes himself scarce for a while so I think he is really gone and then he puts it in my favorite mug and tells me he got it there!!! I WAS SHOCKED, but thought it was a little too funny to be that mad at him!!
So, now I know his tricks and I can officially say that I like instant coffee. It definetly beats paying $3 dollars for it!

Birthday Planning

>> Sunday, April 11, 2010

So, we are home again from a FABULOUS vacation with my family! Now, I am going full force on getting Madeline's birthday party underway! I can't believe that she will be 1 in two weeks! It really does feel like I just gave birth to her! She has changed so much in the last year it is crazy! We are having a pretty low-key party. Just family, but even that takes a lot of planning and preperation. Just with our families and her little cousins coming we still have about 15 people! It's going to be a party at the park with "Elmo" cupcakes which is her favorite character from Sesame Street! I am attempting to make them so we'll see how they come out!
I'm curious to see how she'll do with all the attention! She either loves it and is a total hambone( I wonder where she gets that), or she becomes really shy and clingy! We'll see though!

Now, that Madeline is almost 1, here is list of what is new with her!
-Her favorite thing is "Elmo", "Bunny Buns" ( her stuffed bunny) and her bottle!
-She will walk if you hold her hand but is too cautious to do it on her own!
-Her vocabulary is growing like crazy...most common words are; "Daddy", "Mama", "Ba Ba", "Bye-Bye", "Hey", "Yes", "No No", and "La La" ( When she is singing).
-Favorite foods are cheese, bananas, chicken and dumplings, strawberries, macaroni and cheese, and ice-cream.
-Most disliked foods are peas and carrots.
-Crawls everywhere including stairs and is into everything!
- Is a HUGE cuddler!
Well, thats about it! Since I'm going down memory lane I'm leaving you with a picture of me this time last year...due in about two weeks and awaiting our baby girl!

All That Glitters

>> Thursday, April 8, 2010

They say all that glitters is gold. Well, I don't think that is always the case! Joe is out of town on a business trip so I decided it would be a great time to visit my family in South Carolina while they are on spring break!
Let me just say we are having a blast and a half! We went to the beach at Charleston for a much needed rest for all of us! Madeline had never been before! It was so wonderful to see her face light up as she experienced the ocean. She especially loved the sand. I think because it glittered so much from the sun! She kept trying to eat the sand which was hilarious to see her face as she realized that although sand glitters and looks and feels really neat, it DOES NOT taste good! She learned that quickly enough after a few mouthfulls that I quickly tried to prevent!

The only bad thing about going to the beach is that eventually we have to go home! Bummer! I really do think the beach is one of my favorite places in the world! Another sad thing is that Joe couldn't be with us! Next time we will definetly make it a family trip!
